Hop SquashKids of all ages rise to the challenge of Hop Squash. This is hopscotch like you never played before. Instead of numbers each square is an image with secret sounds which are only activated when you hop on them - don't let those sounds put you off your game.
Negotiate a delicate tea party, snakes, lightning storm, animals, bombs, and other obstacles in this extreme version of an old favourite. Who will rain champion Hop Squasher? Hop-Squash was originally designed and installed for the 2009 Auckland Festival.
It was part of the New Zealand Post family weekend, and installed over two days. |
Hop -Squash wants to be squashed by you! It’s a crazy 3d frenzy.
Forget numbers — this soundscape of squares has mad objects that shout action-packed comic sounds. Obliterate a delicate tea party, stomp on some snakes, or rumble some storm clouds in this whacky remake of an old favourite. |

Testing racket with sound
|
TENNIS in the DARK has three sound qualities assigned to each players racket:
Programable fm synths Noise/Air sound (for swing) Random samples of comic sfx including dogs barking, smashing windows, John McEnroe. The design is based on the early computer game pong and the beeps that went with it. There is also the pysical element of the racket through the air, a 'swish', and a bunch of random soud fx to enhance the action or 'play' The sounds are triggered from a sensor on the racket that picks up the impact of the ball and sends the velocity via radio transmitter to a reciever feeding to a computer where the sounds are triggered and played back through the sound system. |
